I'm in the same time frame, a first year in 75-76 school year
If I remember correctly (and when it comes to Easters, remembering things can be a stretch) 76 Easters was was the last one with the mudslides in Mad Bowl. In 77, there were still sanctioned parties/concerts at Lambeth and on McCormick Rd right in the middle of the old dorms. Starting in 78 was when the administration starting banning on Grounds sanctioned activities, although Rugby Rd was still hopping. Some of the big concerts moved off Grounds into the surrounding countryside, which of course put hundreds, if not thousands of people behind the wheel of their automobiles after consuming copious amounts of grain punch.
My last two years I lived off Grounds and my roommate, who transferred in from Syracuse 2nd year, had 5 or 6 of his old Syracuse first year dorm buddies come down and spend most of the week with us. I had buddies from JMU come in so we had 10-12 people staying in our 3 bedroom townhouse. Everyone got assigned their own gallon milk jug to carry around their grain punch. Our last year, we bought 4 gallons of 190 proof Everclear and made approximately 32 gallons of grain punch for a party we had on Friday night and for the rest of the weekend. It all got consumed.
